Health insurance is probably the type of insurance that most people are very concerned about. The United States is one of the only highly industrialized countries without some form of nationalized health insurance coverage. That means people who are looking for insurance either get it through their employer or have to buy it themselves. In the United States there are over 40 million people without any health insurance.

By purchasing a medical insurance policy you are given benefits. There is a yearly fee that is usually billed by the month to receive the benefits such as tests, drugs and treatment services. There are group policies offered by employers and there are private insurance policies offered to individuals. There are also government run programs like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security Disability.

DENTAL INSURANCE
Your dental health is related to your general health. Medical needs which can be expensive as well as unpredictable while most dental needs and treatments are non-catastrophic and fairly predictable depending on how well you care for yourself. Prevention is the key to dental health. Diagnostic procedures are relatively inexpensive. Dental exams and x-rays are used to detect disease and decay and the sooner you deal with problems the less trouble you will have. That brings us to the idea of insurance.

The first question you have to ask is, “Do I need dental insurance”?
If you are fairly good health with good prevention skills you may only have to go to the dentist twice a year for cleanings so insurance may cost more than you can afford. On the other hand if you have poor health and a history of dental problems you may want to investigate the cost of insurance or join a dental discount plan.
